True marine plywood is the highest grade of plywood, made with high-quality veneers, minimal core gaps and bonded with phenolic resin to a stricter standard (commonly referencing IS:710 in India). It's built to handle constant, direct water exposure - originally for boat building.
What is BWP Plywood?
BWP (Boiling Water Proof) plywood is also phenolic-bonded and highly water resistant, tested to IS:303 standards, but generally uses slightly lower veneer consistency than true marine grade. It performs very well in typical high-moisture residential zones like kitchens and bathrooms, at a lower cost than marine grade.
